At the Threshold of a New Liturgical Year
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Advent is a gentle reminder that God works in the hidden and the humble. As we light each candle, we awaken to a hope that grows quietly within us. This season invites us to make room-through patience, prayer, and small acts of kindness-for Christ who comes as light in our darkness. May these days of waiting deepen our longing for God’s presence and renew our joy in welcoming Jesus into our homes, our parish, and our hearts.
In Christ,
Sibi
The Advent wreath symbolising the everlasting life promised to us will be blessed. Each Sunday during Advent the candles representing hope, peace, joy and love will be lit progressively. A family from our Community will be invited to the altar for the Lighting of the Candles.
Praying with the Psalms: Take a few moments to pause and breathe, setting aside the chaos of the season. This years Advent booklet by Deacon Jason Bulman offers daily 3-Minute devotions from Advent all the way to Christmas. We will be handing out the booklets at the back of church after Mass on the first Sunday of Advent (one per family). Let this Advent season be a time of spiritual renewal as you journey through the psalms and draw closer to the heart of Christ.
