Lk 14:1-6

Jesus been invited to the house of one of the leading Pharisees for a meal, but it wasn’t a friendly gesture. The gospel reading says that his host and fellow guests, other Pharisees and lawyers, ‘were watching him closely’, looking for a way to trap him. It seems that the man with dropsy was deliberately brought into that meal as a way of testing Jesus, to see if he would heal this man on the Sabbath. Anyway, Jesus was happy to fall into their trap in order to cure the unnamed man and to let him experience the love of God.
Reflect today upon your attitudes in dealing with the people. Are you treating others with charity or are you trying to be prejudiced and find fault with them in whatever they do or say? Are you willing to accept the good in others?
