ESRCCB Potluck supper after Mass on 25 Nov.

On Sunday, November 25 immediately following Mass, our faith community will hold a potluck dinner in the gathering room downstairs. Come for a little while or stay for a long time, this is a great opportunity to meet your fellow parishioners and try some new dishes too.

In order to make this a successful event we have set up a website where you can sign-up to bring a specific dish so that we do not end up with too many desserts, for instance. Please visit:

https://www.perfectpotluck.com/PNJQ4837

…and let us know what you will bring.

If you do not get a chance to sign up on the website, please come and bring a dish to share anyway. We look forward to seeing you there!

Pilgrimage holiday in Lourdes in the South of France

Every Easter, about 1,000 children and young people from 14 countries enjoy a life changing pilgrimage holiday in Lourdes in the South of France as members of the International HCPT Pilgrimage https://www.hcpt.org.uk. The aim is to change lives through pilgrimage, sharing God’s gifts of love, friendship and joy.

As announced at church this past couple of weeks, the HCPT will be travelling to Lourdes for their 4th annual Children’s Easter Pilgrimage to the beautiful town of Lourdes in the South of France from 20-27 April, 2019.

The HCPT is a volunteer-based charitable organisation founded in response to Our Lady’s invitation to go on Pilgrimage to Lourdes. It enables those who may need help, especially the young, to experience pilgrimage in small caring groups, seeking to share with joy, the gift of God’s love. Children travel for free.

For the fourth consecutive year the HCPT Switzerland Verein will travel to Lourdes for this simply amazing Easter Pilgrimage. The Verein is now closely integrated into this much bigger Pilgrimage, contributing to the HCPT Trust Mass attended by about 6,000 Pilgrims, attending all of the Catholic events in the week, including Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Torchlight Procession and bathing in the water from the Lourdes spring (unearthed by St Bernadette 160 years ago during the 9th Marian Apparition).

The HCPT's core beliefs are:

  • Value: HCPT respects and cherishes each individual regardless of differences
  • Love and respect: HCPT shows and shares the power of God’s love through compassion and care
  • Faith: HCPT’s pilgrimages are based on Christian faith and welcomes people of all faiths and none
  • Community: Through commitment, care and service HCPT builds joyful communities
  • Celebration: HCPT celebrates life and love
  • One Trust: The HCPT community is built on a common ethos, shared by all our groups, whenever, and from wherever, they go on pilgrimage

If you would like to travel to Lourdes for Easter 2019 with the HCPT Switzerland Verein, please

Please note your registration is not binding, it is just to give the HCPT an idea of how many are interested in going.

Kindly note that the deadline for confirming travel with the group is 31 October, 2018 (with possible extension).e

New Nursery during Mass - volunteers needed

We are currently trying to establish a new nursery at our Church, that would care for your child throughout the entirety of our mass. We are seeking to provide a safe, Christian atmosphere for the youngest members of our church family.

We believe that our children are God’s greatest gift! Our new nursery will seek to provide care to infants and toddlers up to four years old, that contributes to their wellbeing and complements and strengthens the Christian nurturing the child experiences at home. We would like to help you and your child build trusting relationships and feel a sense of belonging within our community by reaching out in love and understanding.

If you are interested in having your child in our new nursery, or would like to volunteer to help care for the children in the nursery, please fill out the Nursery Registration form.

We would also like to meet after mass for about 5-10 minutes so that we can discuss together any questions you may have.

Youth Group (13+)

Join our youth group to talk about your catholic faith with other young adults.  Together we pray and sing, do different activities, and have bible studies as well as inspiring videos. We also organize movie nights, outdoor activities, bake sales, and once a year a retreat.

Our monthly gatherings take place in the event room (downstairs in the Basement) of Restaurant L’Esprit at Laufenstrasse 46 in 4053 Basel and are shown in the website calendar.

Bring your friends, and we hope to see you at our next gathering!

If you have any questions, you can contact us via mail youthgroupheartsonfire@gmail.com.
